Land of Logos and Bunches of Business

I created four logos and business cards for myself and one set for a fictional company.

1. The first logo and business card I created was based on the alliteration in my name. The logo is designed to have two K's - One in the thick black lines, and one in the negative space. I liked the abstract look and thought it was bold and simple. I felt like this design was strong enough on its own in black and white.

2. I stayed with the alliteration theme for logo number two. I made two K's, but this time one is flipped backwards so the two long stems of the K's are against each other. I thought it looked too childish and like a butterfly, which is not what I like, so I turned it 90 degrees and made a vertical pattern out of it. I chose yellow in some business cards because not only is it eye-catching, but yellow often suggests (even subconsciously) energy, positivity, and creativity.

3. I then started playing around with my first and middle initials instead. I liked the lowercase simplicity of this design and the gentle repeating curves. It also makes such a pretty pattern on one side of the business card. This design is definitely more feminine and delicate than my previous two.

The yellow adds the feelings mentioned in #3, but also abstractly represents a sunrise (new beginnings, hope, etc). 

4. My fourth logo is cute and playful. I liked combining my two letters (K & J) to make one.

I played with repeating the low-opacity logo over and over to create an interesting effect.

5. Finally, I wanted to create a logo for a fictional company. I have always wanted to own and run a bakery, but the market is (sadly) oversaturated. I had to think of a way to make my bakery unique, so I decided upon a bakery that specializes in nerdy and geeky goods. "Apple Pi," a playoff of apple pie, seemed to be the perfect fit. I loved this logo a lot!

I love the little bite mark on the side.

This business card was difficult to design. In the future, I might want to add photos of speciality baked goods so people know what Apple Pi is.
